About

Welcome! I'm Alia Lawlor, LPCC-S, CCTP. Clients  have described my approach as warm, funny, insightful, and supportive. My intent is to create a comfortable and safe environment where you can talk about even the most sensitive and challenging topics without feeling judged or uncomfortable.  At times when appropriate, I  bring a directness that is delivered with kindness and humor, aiming to provide insightful perspectives that support you in your growth. This "being human" is difficult, and I have compassion for the experience we're all having.

On a personal note, my connection with nature is evident in my website. I have a profound and abiding love for the natural world—trees, stars, mountains, and the great outdoors altogether. Spending time alone in nature, rejuvenates and connects me to a sense of inner peace and well-being.  5/5 Would recommend.

I  embrace and support individuals of all gender expressions and sexual orientations. My practice is a safe and judgment-free space where clients can explore their authentic selves without fear of discrimination and judgment.  My goal is to provide a supportive environment where clients feel understood, accepted, and empowered to navigate their unique experience.  Your spiritual beliefs (or lack thereof) are welcome here. I work with many clients with non-traditional / non-religious spiritual beliefs.

I am dedicated to helping people cultivate a deep sense of self-love, forgiveness, and compassion, which I believe is the bedrock of  healing. When people embrace self-love and compassion, they naturally extend kindness and empathy to others. I believe that fostering these attributes within ourselves is essential for both personal and global healing.

What is insight oriented therapy?

Insight-oriented therapy delves into a person's buried thoughts, emotions, and past experiences to uncover the roots of their current challenges. By exploring these underlying motivations and conflicts, insight therapy can give clients a deep self-awareness and understanding. This process can lead to significant personal growth as clients gain insight into how their past influences their present behavior and relationships. Inherent in this process are many opportunities to develop self-love, acceptance, forgiveness, and compassion.  It's like psychological detective work that helps individuals uncover the hidden factors shaping their lives, enabling them to rewrite their personal story and achieve lasting change.

Remember, therapy will be tailored to your needs and comfort level. If these considerations resonate with you, insight-oriented therapy could be an impactful choice for your personal growth.
